KATHY - MY CITY

I used to work and lived in Shanghai.But I was born in Nanchang which is the capital city of Jiangxi Province.you may not have heard of this name of city.The name literally means"a prosperous south part of China". It is located in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River, the River through Jiangxi  Province has called Gan River . The Gan River is mother river of local people, traversing through the whole city.Nanchang bordering the Poyang Lake, this lake which is one of China‘s five major lakes。
I think the most impressive things about Nanchang that has a lot of lakes, 16 lakes in Nanchang city which covers an area of more than two hectares.For example,the biggest lake is Yao Lake which covers area of 1473 hectares, and AIXI Lake covers area of 400 hectares,Even Qingshan Lake which we often visit,covers an area of 305 hectares.Lakes and rivers in or around the city bring a special kind of charm to the city.

In addition, Nanchang Port is the most important water transportation transfer point. From this Port you can travel by ships to visit Poyang Lake, Stone Bell Hill, Poyang Lake Bird Protection Area, Dagu Hill and other attraction.

Nanchang is a famous historical and cultural city with a history of over 2,200 .The Pavilion of Prince Teng is the most famous.

The city is also famous for its delicious food. The traditional Nanchang Cuisine (Gan Cuisine) plays a very important role in Chinese food culture. When you are visiting this place, you should have a taste of Gan Cuisine. You can also enjoy other nice cuisines.There are so many famous leisure food streets in Nanchang.

In the past 40 yeas,China has made tremendous progress and achievements. Every city has invested many manpower and financial resources in infrastructure construction.such as a new international airport in Nanchang and Metro line 1 and line 2 are in service now. But we sacrificed the environment in which we live.Air pollution is a very serious problem,especially in big cities. Fortunately China government has realized this problem. I wish the air in our country will be as fresh as Australia one day
Nanchang is also the birthplace of the Chinese army,so we call it"Hero City".
